Jim Koons Automotive is a 2014 Best Places to Work!
This past Friday, March 21st, it was announced that Jim Koons Automotive Cos., was picked by the Washington Business Journal, as one of the Greater Washington DC areas best places to work. There are three categories: Small (10-50 employees), Medium (51-150 employees), and Large (151 or more employees). Jim Koons is an honoree in the “large” company category and this is the fifth year that we’ve been selected. It’s an honor to be among this group of distinguished corporations and we’re proud of all of our employees who’ve made this award possible.

In order for a company to be selected they first need to submit an application, this submission will start the evaluation process. Each company application requires a survey to be administered to all of its employees, in order for a fair evaluation to be obtained a sliding scale of responses are needed (the scale is based on company size). The survey rates a company against 10 criteria; Team effectiveness, Retention, Employee alignment with company goals, Trust with co-workers, Individual contribution, Manager effectiveness, Trust in senior leaders, Feeling valued, Work engagement, and People practices. All applications needed to be submitted by January 31st, 2014 and a significant number of surveys needed to be completed by February 28th, 2014 in order for the company to be eligible.
Once the application is submitted the auditing company (Quantum Market Research) tabulated the employee surveys and those responses actually determined the results and rankings. All nominees need to have operations in the greater Washington DC area in order to be considered, that area covers DC, NoVA and Central Maryland. There are other aspects to the eligibility criteria but the three mentioned here are the most important. This is the fifth time that Koons has made it on the list and every time the group of applicants and honorees have been remarkable. From Small to large the field is made up of very impressive firms and Koons Automotive is honored to be in their company.

And The “Vehicle Satisfaction” Award Goes To…
Congratulations to several Koons brands for being a recipient of the recent AutoPacific/Autobytel ‘Vehicle Satisfaction’ award for 2012. The overall brand winners were two brands that Koons proudly sells: Mercedes-Benz for luxury brands, and Buick for popular brands.
According to AutoPacific, based on the largest single-model-year survey of automotive owners, the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are designed to help consumers make informed vehicle purchase decisions with a true “word of mouth” survey. More than 75,000 vehicle owners across all major manufacturers were surveyed based on their satisfaction of the current vehicle they own.

Koons Chevrolet Honored with “Mark of Excellence”
Shari Keith, General Motors’ District Sales Manager, presents the “Mark of Excellence” Award to Koons Chevrolet General Manager Pat Fogarty and team.
Huge kudos to our Chevrolet-Buick-GMC team at Koons GM Corner for recently being awarded Chevrolet’s prestigious “Mark of Excellence” Award for 2011, which recognizes excellence in sales and customer service. The annual award, which benchmarks dealerships on customer service requirements, sales objectives and facility and training requirements, was bestowed upon only 20% of dealerships in the Northern Virginia area.
The dealership – one of the region’s largest Chevrolet dealers – recently completed a major renovation in 2011 to its Chevrolet and Buick/GMC showrooms. Be sure to come by and visit our new state-of-the-art dealership in Tysons Corner and be prepared to be “WOW’d” by our amazing staff!
